Chapter 5: Stolen Moments and Restless Hearts
Am I not beautiful enough?
Not his type?
Or does he just not like women?
Maybe sensing my questioning stare, he glances back at me.
“I have things to do, so I can’t stay. You’re not upset, are you?”
I wave him off, quick. “Not at all, not at all. If you’re busy, go ahead, don’t mind me.”
He nods, closes the door, and he’s gone.
I flop back onto the bed, dazed, remembering Dad’s advice to “get along well with the Crown Prince.”
Funny—there’s not even a chance to get along.
Whatever. It’s not like I’m in love with him.
Guess I’ll just eat my way through this palace.
Maybe I’ll get to eat the God of Food’s cooking in the Heavenly Palace.
Heh, I grin to myself.

Julian’s the Crown Prince—cold, distant, and apparently a golden dragon in his true form.
Actually, he’s not much older than me—just over four thousand years old.
But hey, he’s the one and only Crown Prince of Heaven.
He’s so young, but already acts like nobody but golden dragons are good enough.
I have no words.
I mean, I’ve been to plenty of Heavenly banquets, and as the King of Heaven’s only son, he should’ve been there.
But I’ve never seen him—strange.
So on my wedding night, I spent the whole night alone in an empty room.
The next morning, a fairy maid was already waiting outside to serve me.
“Princess, you may call me Haley.”
She’s cute, in a peach-pink dress.
“Cute name. Why Haley?”
Haley quickly waves her hands, deadpan. “Haley is just Haley, it’s the name Master gave me, definitely not a spy or anything!”
“…Alright.” Yeah, that’s not suspicious at all.
Now I know you’re a spy.
On the second day after the wedding, I have to go meet the King and Queen of Heaven.
