Chapter 6: The Trap

I tie the confused, hot Chijioke for bed.

My hands dey sweat, but I do am sharp sharp. My best friend dey outside dey pray say I no go change mind last minute.

To make sure he no wake up halfway, I even blindfold am with tie.

I grab his fine blue tie, knot am well. My mind dey race, but I tell myself say na only this one fit save me from worse wahala.

My heart dey beat like drum—I never do this kind thing before, but no turning back again.

As I dey move, the room quiet. I hear my own breath loud for ear. Na do or die be this.

I climb on top am, open his shirt, my hand run from his chest to his fine abs.

Chijioke body dey sweat, I fit feel the heat even with fan dey blow. My hand dey shake as I touch am, my mind dey scatter.

Chijioke chest dey rise and fall. The drug dey make his body hot, my touch just dey make am worse.

He dey struggle, but no fit talk well. I almost pity am, but I gats finish wetin I start.

He dey breathe heavy, voice low. "Kamsi, baby."

As he call my name, e pain me reach bone. But I dey remind myself say if na Amina, she go enjoy this same thing.

As I hear am, my face just hot, but I dey think—if na Amina come tonight, na so he go dey with her too.

Jealousy dey roast my heart. My hands dey tremble, but I force myself continue.

I vex, pinch his abs, he gasp.

He shout, "Ah!" I almost laugh, but I no let am show. This na my own way to get small revenge.

I slap his chest. "Shameless. Even when I pinch you, you dey enjoy?"

I dey use mouth cover my shame. E dey pain me say I dey act like person wey no get conscience.

Then, I bite him everywhere for neck and chest.

I bite am small small, marks full everywhere. Na those marks go be evidence for my plan.

As I see him dey struggle for rope, I gats quicken up.

I no wan let am escape or remember anything. Time dey against me.

I harden my heart and just do am.

I close my eyes, let tears drop. Na pain and shame dey mix inside me.

But pain catch me, I start dey cry, wan run, but e too late—everything don dey his control.

My body dey shake, the pain strong. I nearly give up, but I finish wetin I start. This na my own cross.

He just dey call my name, no even know wetin him dey do.

The drug strong, he dey in another world. E just dey shout, "Kamsi...Kamsi..."

After everything finish, I nearly no fit stand up.

My leg weak, I collapse for ground, my best friend rush come inside, carry me. She dey wipe my tears, tell me say everything go soon finish.

As I finish, I rush airport go meet my best friend.

She order bolt, drag me inside car. We no talk much, just dey breathe heavy.

When time reach and the drug don almost clear, I carry her go catch him for the act.

We burst enter the room, my best friend dey record for phone, I dey shout, tears full my face. Chijioke just dey confused.

Whether woman dey his side or not, the marks for his body no fit explain.

My plan na make the marks speak for themselves. No need argue, evidence full everywhere.

This cheating partner wey I create from nowhere leave Chijioke with nothing to talk.

My best friend dey play along, even console me. Chijioke just dey look lost.

Everything work as I plan.

For the first time, I feel small relief, even though my heart dey bleed.

He turn to the bad guy, and I be the heartbroken first love.

Na that role pain pass. Everybody go pity me, but only me know say I set the trap.
