If this were the original plot, I’d enter the capital alone and be tossed straight into a cell.

Carter would then make up charges against me.

He’d torture me, trying to force a confession.

I, being upright and stubborn, would of course refuse.

And then… because I wouldn’t confess, Carter actually couldn’t convict me…

Driven nuts, Carter would come up with a brilliant idea.

He’d bring me Lillian’s locket, her scarf, and a lock of her hair, sending them into the cell.

In despair, I’d finally sign a confession.

At this point, the heroine would hear the news.

She’d bribe White House guards and staff, sneak out, break into the cell, and meet with me—a tearful, heartfelt reunion.

Honestly… I just want to ask: Girl, if you’re this capable, why not use these skills earlier?

Anyway, after our meeting, she’d ask if the charges were true.

I’d tell her the truth.

Then she’d sneak back into the White House.

I mean, how does she come and go from the White House so easily?

Meanwhile, Carter would be discussing my fate with the Attorney General and the Chief Justice.

She’d eavesdrop, then rush in at the perfect moment to expose the truth.

Basically, she’d say the Commander was innocent, and the charges were bogus.

Amazingly, the Attorney General and Chief Justice would actually refuse to convict me due to lack of evidence.

Cue a digression praising the heroine’s wisdom and courage.

Carter would be so angry he’d tremble, face turning green, yet remain helpless.

Then Carter would lock up the heroine.

After that, he’d torment her in every way imaginable.

During this time, Carter would develop feelings for her.

To win her, Carter would use my life to threaten Lillian.

“Ma’am, you don’t want the Commander to keep suffering in jail, do you?”

What could the heroine do? She could only agree, tears in her eyes.

Of course, she hadn’t completely forgotten me and kept begging Carter to spare my life.

But every time she did, Carter would only torment her more.

After a lot of struggle, Carter was finally forced to let her visit me in jail once on the fifteenth of every month.

Every time we met, the scene was heartwarming and moving—a perfect display of deep, sincere love.

Carter’s heart burned with passion for her, but on the surface he stayed cold as ice, torturing, gaslighting, mocking, and ridiculing her at every turn.

The heroine, meanwhile, always stayed loyal.

“You can have my body, but you’ll never have my heart.”

One is twisted and obsessive, the other loyal and unyielding. If this were any other story, it would end here.

But the author isn’t ordinary…
