Chapter 5: Revenge, Sparks, and Police Wahala
After hours for emergency room, my mama finally stable. I dey corridor, dey walk up and down, dey pray. Doctor come out from ICU, dey wipe sweat, say, 'You people lucky o. If una late small, even God no fit save her.'
I nod, dey thank God. Nurse smile, my wife dey kneel dey pray, 'Alhamdulillah.' I thank am, but my heart dey race. If those guards delay us more, I for lose my mama. Tears roll my face, I dey shake. People dey look me, I no even send. Only God know as I dey feel.

As I reach estate, na so I see my car again—four wheels clamp, same notice and number: 'Unlocking, ₦20,000.' My eye see red. Even my neighbours dey shake head, dey whisper, 'No go near am o, e dey vex!'
My anger don reach top. I no talk, just on angle grinder, begin cut. The noise loud, sparks dey fly. I dey sweat, people dey video. One small pikin dey shout, 'Uncle dey vex!'
Rage dey push me. Sparks dey fly everywhere. In minutes, all the locks scatter. Neighbours dey clap for window, some dey laugh. 'Omo, na so! Make dem feel am!'
As I start car, na so guards rush come, block road. Keke block front, two guards dey back, dey hold baton. I dey look them, no fear. Na that same unlocking guard dey lead dem. E dey bounce, dey crack knuckle, dey eye me like lion.
