Arjun seemed to be in a good mood, holding a paper bag in his hand.

Even though I’d already rehearsed what I wanted to say, I couldn’t help feeling a little nervous.

Because I was so anxious, I didn’t even notice what he was carrying—only hurried to help him hang up his coat.

I could still smell the faint perfume of the other Omega clinging to the fabric, or perhaps it was just my imagination, sharpened by jealousy and heartbreak.

Then, looking up, I met his eyes and said seriously:

"I have something to give you."

For once, a rare smile appeared in Arjun’s always-cold eyes. He nodded slightly: "Mm, I also have something for you."

The way he said it—softly, almost shyly—reminded me for a moment of the boy I’d once loved, not the man who now haunted my dreams.

I was stunned, and subconsciously asked, "What is it?"

He seemed a little impatient, and without dodging, pulled me to sit down and handed me the paper bag he’d been holding.

I opened it and was momentarily speechless.

It was a ring—exactly the same as before.

Though it looked simple, the materials and craftsmanship were intricate. So his hurried departure at noon hadn’t been for a meeting, but to have a ring made.

Arjun’s warm, broad palm held my wrist as he solemnly slipped the ring onto my finger:

"Don’t lose it again this time. By the way, what was it you wanted to give me?"

He looked at me expectantly, as if this exchange of gifts could make us new again. For a second, I almost believed it.

"I..."

A sharp pain stabbed my heart. For a moment, I couldn’t breathe.

My hand trembled as I reached for the divorce papers—outside, Mumbai’s chaos carried on, but inside, my world was about to end.
