When I wake, I on my phone. Hibiscus don call tire, e dey vex me. So I block am join. I call Sani: “Guy, you talk say you get palm farm for Osogbo?”
“Yes, my ex dash me. Why?” E voice sound like person wey party all night.
I click tongue: “Even if you be iron, try rest small.”
Sani: “When you turn my ex?”
No wahala.
I continue: “I no wan stay Port Harcourt, I wan go Osogbo rest.”
“Oh, I go send address.” E sound lazy, then ask: “Sis, make I follow you?”
“No need.”
As e hear my mood low, e quick sharp up: “No way! Just call me sis, I dey come. I go join you.”
Before you know, e buy two flight ticket. But I no see Sani for airport lounge. Before boarding, e send voice note:
“Sis, you go Osogbo first. I just jam my ex—see as e fresh now! If I fit catch am back, I go use am deal with Olamide!”
Make I believe you, or say Sango don wake? No wahala, my guy dey find love. I wish am well.
I reply: “Remember to carry enough umbrella.”
Sani send OK sticker: “All set.”
I just laugh, look sky. For this life, sometimes wahala be like rain for rainy season—you fit dodge, but e go still soak your back.
