Chapter 4: Crossing Lines
The first time I jam Morayo na for camping trip. Weekend, my guy invite me and Amaka for outdoor waka. Amaka, as usual, talk say she get work to finish. She no follow, but she no stop me. Na so I meet lively Morayo.
The air for that camping site fresh, birds dey sing, Morayo dey shine like early morning sun. Maybe na like rain wey fall after dry season, or maybe na true love. Morayo smile just enter my body. Anywhere she enter, everywhere dey shine. After that day, na only her smile, her dimple, her crescent eyes dey my mind. We exchange number, dey chat small small. I no plan cross line with her, but I no fit resist her sharp sense and energy. Her world dey colourful, different from Amaka own. Like stone wey dem throw for calm water, she dey cause ripple for my heart.
Sometimes she go drop me text for midnight, "Have you eaten?" or send funny meme. E dey make me laugh. Every weekend after, na Morayo I dey follow waka. Amaka no dey ask. She only dey remind me to drive safe. She just dey dull like her work. But Morayo always dey envy her: "But your wife be magistrate, that one na big thing." She go even warn me, "Man wey no love him wife, no be good man."
The more Morayo talk, the more my feelings for her dey grow. Until she finally gree for me. We begin dey go out steady, fall in love. I promise her say I go clear matter with Amaka quick.
