"Emeka, you don craze? Where you see wife? I know say you no happy about me and Kelechi. Me and am just dey play true true. Everybody know say na you I go marry. If I marry, I no go get freedom at all again. You suppose understand me!" She dey shout now, her composure don scatter like broken glass.

I fit imagine Adaeze vex face as she dey talk for the other side. The same face wey I been think say I love, now just dey irritate me.

Them don spoil her since she small, dey favor her, she no dey fear anything. Only daughter of billionaire, nobody ever tell her no.

She no fit care about other people feelings at all, dey behave like say the world dey revolve around her, domineering heiress. And I been dey enable am all these years.

"I go ask you last time, you dey serious? I go talk am straight for dinner table. You better no regret am..." Her voice dey shake small, like say she dey start to understand say this time different.

Before she finish, I cut the call. No more words needed.

Chioma don already waka come, dey deliberately drag her voice. She dey tease me, but her eyes get understanding:

I hug her waist, laugh am off. Her body dey warm against mine:

"Of course no be. Na Adaeze call. Family alliance get plenty factors, but no worry. I go explain everything clear soon. This weekend I go carry you go house make you meet my parents." I go face the storm, but with Chioma by my side, I fit handle anything.

Chioma nod like say she dey think, talk with certainty. Her voice get that quiet confidence wey I don come love:

"Actually if you marry me, your parents go even happy pass." And somehow, deep inside my belle, I know say she dey right. Chioma na the type of woman wey even Mama go kneel thank God for.
