Chapter 3: The Organ

Professor Olumide’s Diary——

July 20, 2045

After coming back from the expedition, I searched through all kinds of ancient books, but found nothing about the giant undersea mountain.

I was deeply afraid. Where did this massive triangular mountain come from?

Who carved these patterns on it?

Especially those kneeling giant snakes—they were just too strange.

I remembered my grandmother’s warning: “Not everything old is meant to be found, my son.” Her words chased me through every dusty page and faded scroll I read.

Luckily, before leaving, we collected a sample from the mountain.

We sent it for analysis, hoping for answers.

Just now, Professor Musa, who was handling the analysis, called me in a panic.

"Professor Olumide, the results are out. You need to come and see for yourself.

Oga, what you brought back no be for ordinary eye."

His voice sounded as if he had just seen a ghost. I didn’t even have time to tell Chijioke and rushed there alone.

Professor Musa was sitting in a corner of his office, eyes red and tired.

When he saw me, he quickly stood up and locked the door.

Then, with a bitter smile, he handed me a paper report.

"Professor Olumide, human history may have to be rewritten."

I took the report, my heart beating fast.

What he gave me was a biological analysis report.

But what we sent was clearly a piece of mountain rock.

I looked at Professor Musa, confused, a sense of dread rising in my chest.

Professor Musa forced a bitter smile and spoke slowly:

"You’re not mistaken. After many tests,

what you brought back is not a mineral at all.

It’s a biological sample. That thing is alive.

Professor Olumide, you should check the final conclusion in the report."

His words left me speechless, a cold chill creeping up my back, my whole body frozen.

Holding my breath, I flipped to the last page of the report.

Immediately, it felt like thousands of ants were crawling all over my body, goosebumps everywhere.

The conclusion said:

[Biological analysis shows the sample DNA is a perfect match with human DNA.

Tests show the tissue structure is the same as human organs.

This organ is...]

---

Professor Olumide’s diary ended abruptly here.

"This organ is..."—then two more words, but they had been covered with thick black ink, impossible to read.

All the pages after that were soaked in ink, the writing destroyed—clearly someone did it on purpose.

At that moment, every hair on my body stood on end, like cold water poured down my back.

If the diary is telling the truth,

then at a depth of ten thousand meters under the sea,

there is a three-thousand-meter-tall human organ.

But then, a huge question came to my mind:

Why did the professor cover up the name of the organ?

What exactly is that giant human organ?

And why is the story of Olumide moving the mountain carved on it?

These mysteries pounded my mind like drumbeats.

A burning desire rose in me—a drive to uncover the truth behind it all.

Not just to solve the mystery of Professor Olumide’s disappearance, but to calm the storm in my own heart.

Because he was not the only one who disappeared without a trace.

Three years ago, I watched someone else vanish from this world.

I swore I would find her.
